11th Annual Plantersville Crawfish Festival and Cook-Off

Just a twenty minute drive west of the Lake Conroe area, lies the small city of Plantersville. From Highway 105, Plantersville appears to be just an intersection. However, it has many restaurants, wedding venues, a wineries, and much more. This Saturday the town is hosting their 11th annual Plantersville Crawfish Festival and Cook-Off.

When and Where:

Saturday, April 29th is the day of the festival. It will be held at the Deep Roots Vineyards. The winery is south of Plantersville just past the new toll road on 1774. The address to the festival is: 19318 FM 1774, Plantersville, TX 77363. The festival opens at 11:30 a.m.

How to Attend:

You must purchase a wristband to enter the festival. They are available for $45 in two places, including YaYa’s in Navasota and The Plantersville Office in Plantersville. The latter shares the parking lot with the Shell station. Children 12 and under enter for free.

What to Expect:

During the cook-off, attendees can eat all they can of crawfish from any of the competitors. Enjoy live music beginning at noon. There will be a crawfish eating contest. Also you can play corn hole. In addition to the crawfish, you can also explore the Deep Roots Vineyard winery. If you get your fill of crawfish and want to eat something else, the Snack Shack Food Truck will be offering things like cheeseburgers, nachos, and barbecue.

The different cook-off teams will be competing in several categories: best boiled crawfish, best gumbo, best crawfish dish, and best creative drink. May the best team win!
