Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival

Since 1990, the Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival has occurred the second full weekend of October. Therefore, this year the festival begins Friday, October 11th and runs through the 13th. Find out about the Friends of Conroe, the festival, and how to purchase tickets by reading more.

Friends of Conroe

The Friends of Conroe is a non-profit, community organization in Montgomery County. It seeks to “further the welfare and well-being of the city of Conroe, Texas.” Hosting the Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival is one way that they serve the community. The festival brings over 30,000 people to Conroe, which helps boost the economy. Additionally, the organization also provides scholarships for local Conroe ISD students. Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival

Times-

The annual festival begins at 6 pm on Friday until midnight. On Saturday, gates open at 11 am until midnight. And things begin at noon on Sunday until 6 pm. All of these events take place in downtown Conroe. However, there is a separate Tejano Day event from 2 to 11 pm on Saturday in Heritage Park.

What to Expect-

This festival is a family-friendly event with live music on three stages, food vendors, arts & crafts, and a Catfish Pageant. The festival has a packed lineup of entertainers like Double Trouble Zydeco and Bayou Roux. To see the full lineup, click here. You can expect to eat some cajun food favorites like crawfish pie to normal festival fare like turkey legs. On Sunday afternoon, both boys and girls will compete for the titles of Mr. and Miss Catfish. You can get more information here.

Tickets

Purchase tickets in advance online. Click here. Children 12 and under enter for free. Read your options carefully. For example, you can purchase a weekend ticket for $30 or you can buy individual days. The Tejano Day event requires a different ticket. Also, you can prepay for Catfish Credits for food and beverages. You do need a festival ticket to enter the carnival except for Thursday night.
