Back to School Prep for 2024

Tomorrow is August! Whether you are ready or not, school is starting soon in the Lake Conroe area. This last week of July and first week of August is the perfect time to tackle back to school prep for this up-coming school year.

When Does School Start?

Knowing when your students return to class helps you pace your preparations. Rome wasn’t built in one day. There is no need to get everything that needs to be done all at once. Students arrive for their first day of class at Covenant Christian School on Thursday, August 8th. Both Conroe ISD and Willis ISD begin the 2024-2025 school year Wednesday, August 14th. While Montgomery ISD students begin Thursday, August 15th. Of course, homeschool students vary greatly on their first day of class.

What to Think About?

One of the great ways to make going back to school fun is all the new gear. School supplies, school clothes, and new haircuts are standard practices. The government of Texas tries to help parents by eliminating sales taxes on items one weekend of the year. August 9-11th is the official Tax-Free Weekend this year. Take advantage of sales and paying no taxes. Every cent adds up in savings.

Back to School Prep might include decluttering and organizing your home, too. If you need help in this area, check out Amy Darley’s video. Anything to simplify the getting ready routine in the morning will help. Also, think of the food you’ll need for easy, nutritious breakfasts as well as for a packed lunch. Of course, every child comes home from school ready for a snack. Check out these tips from Rach Plus Five.

It is time for Back to School Prep for 2024! Your kids are watching you and your enthusiasm, or lack thereof, and will feed off your energy. Intentionally make this an exciting time and set them up for success this school year.
