Chip and Joanna Gaines put Waco on the national map so to speak, but today we are exploring a hidden gem outside of the same town.  Just a two hour drive from the Lake Conroe area, BSR Cable Park & Surf Resort hides out in the country. You never would think you could catch a big wave by heading into Central Texas, but this place offers the unexpected.  It is full of pleasant surprises.  BSR Cable Park & Surf Resort offers a variety of family-friendly activities as well as lessons in different water sports.

Surfing:

Yes, you heard me right. You can hang ten in Waco!  They have a beautiful man-made beach area equipped with a wave machine to simulate a beach experience.  The water is turquoise and clear.  The waves move rhythmically, which enable people to learn and/or practice their surfing ability.  They offer lessons for beginnners, intermediates, and experts.  For the latter, the wave machine has the ability to recreate the famous waves on the North Shore in Hawaii.  In contrast, the beginner lesson have 1-2′ waves.  Therefore, the surfing lessons at BSR Surf Resort can teach any and all levels.  They also offer private lessons.  For those wanting to hang out to watch their loved ones surf, a beach pass is available so they can enjoy the sand and water on the periphery.

Waterboarding & Water Skiing:

BSR is considered the world’s best cable park.  Electronically-driven cables pull waterboarders and water skiers alike in another man-made lake on the property.  The cables can be pulled at different speeds so regardless of your skill level, you can enjoy the sports.  BSR also has different obstacles, such as sliders and rails to enable athletes to get some air and develop their skills.  You can spend the day being pulled behind the cables while you shred the water.  However if you are learning either sport, they also offer private lessons.

Water Fun:

They have two main activities for people just looking to have some fun in the water.  You can purchase tickets separately or save money by buying the combo pass.  The Royal Flush is a set of long water slides that launch people into the air allowing them to do acrobatics and/or crash land into the water.  Also, the Lazy River enables people to relax while floating the longest lazy river in the United States.

At BSR Cable Park & Surf Resort, you can rent cabins and stay.  They also offer food and drinks at the Bar & Grill.  However, you can bring in your own grill.  Because of COVID-19, they do have rules and policies to follow.  They are operating at 50% capacity.  Therefore, download the online waiver, fill it out, and purchase your passes online to ensure your spot.  Definitely check out their website for more information.  Only a couple of hours from Montgomery, you can soak up some rays, learn some new skills, breathe the fresh air, and have family-friendly fun in Waco, TX at BSR Cable Park & Surf Resort.
