Don’t you love to see Christmas lights? Whether the lights border the perimeter of homes, are coordinated with music, or completely cover every inch of a roof like in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, they illuminate and beautify the night. Throughout the Lake Conroe area, there are many options to see Christmas lights. Today we will explore a few free places.
Bethany Bend in Alden Bridge
There are many decorated homes within The Woodlands, but this street is known for going all out. Each house’s decor is centered around a candy cane. Obviously it costs nothing to drive down this street. They do suggest that you enter on Bethany Bend and continue to Bethany Bend Circle.
Dodd Family Light Show
While you are in The Woodlands, the Dodd’s house is a home to see. Their display depends on the weather so make sure that you check their Facebook page before you head out there. The light display runs until 10 p.m. every night and on the weekends it extends until 12 a.m.
Gullo House of Lights
For years, Mr. Tony Gullo decorated his home and allows people to walk through the displays or simply drive by completely for free. Sadly, he passed away earlier this year. Therefore, this will be the last year of the Gullo House of Lights. You can see the lights until December 31st each night until 10 p.m. Check out its Facebook page for more information.
Woodlands Waterway
This free display runs through January 5th. Park for free in many lots near the waterway and stroll freely seeing the Christmas lights. There are light tunnels and plenty of places for photo-ops. And, the lights are on both sides of the water.
Explore all these places for the best christmas lights to see for free. I cannot possibly highlight every great home, street, or neighborhood in the Lake Conroe area; however, if you feel like I have left one off the list, please reach out and let me know. As we admire the beauty of the Christmas lights, reflect on the fact that Jesus is the light of the world. He is the ultimate “Christmas” light to see this season. Enjoy!
