Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo celebrates the victory at the Battle of Puebla where the Mexican army defeated the French on May 5, 1862. However in the states, we apparently will use any excuse to throw a fiesta. Here May 5th has morphed into a celebration of Mexican culture with margaritas, tacos, and Maricachi music.

There are several events and/or parties you can attend in the Lake Conroe area this upcoming Wednesday. Places like Shanahans Bar & Grill, B-52 Brewing Co., Mestizo’s Mexican Cafe, and the Springs Event Venue.

Shanahans Bar & Grill

Shanahans Bar & Grill is hosting its 6th Annual Moustache & Margaritas Cinco de Mayo Party. It’s located at: 18020 HWY 105, Montgomery, TX. Beginning as early as noon on Wednesday, May 5th and lasting into the wee hours of the night, there will be plenty of time for you to celebrate. DJ Nacho will rock the night away at this event. To help you celebrate, Shanahans is offering $2 tacos and $3 margaritas.

B-52’s Cinco de Mayo Fiesta

In Conroe at the B-52 Brewery, they are hosting a fiesta from 2-8 p.m. Their location is: 12470 Milroy Rd. They will be releasing a Mexican Lager on Wednesday, May 5th.

Mestizo’s Mexican Cafe

The Mestizo’s Mexican Cafe is hosting a Cinco de Mayo Celebration on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. They are located at 9803 TX-242, Suite 900 in Conroe. They are offering free queso! And of course, there will be discounts on margaritas, beer, and Mexican food.

The Springs Event Venue

At the Lake Conroe Springs Event Venue, enjoy a Sip & See Cinco de Mayo Event. This is a unique opportunity for engaged couples to plan their wedding with the venue. Truly this is an open house with a twist. Take advantage of free cake, margaritas, food as well as meet other wedding vendors. Come and go between 6 – 9 p.m. This sounds like a fun way to plan any upcoming nuptuals.

Clearly, there are many places in the Lake Conroe area with Cinco de Mayo spirit. You have options. You can literally plan a wedding, get your fill of tacos and margaritas, or witness the release of a new beer from a local brewery. Have fun! Stay safe! Enjoy May 5th!
