Dog-Friendly Places in the Lake Conroe Area

Since we are in the dog days of summer and looking forward to the return of cooler temperatures, I was inspired to explore dog-friendly places in the Lake Conroe area. Of course, there might be rules to follow, but it is wonderful to know which places welcome your furry, four-footed friend.

B-52 Brewing

B-52 Brewing is a local brewing company that offers a variety of beers, wines, meads, and non-alcoholic drinks. They also have food trucks offering tasty fare. Dogs are welcome on a leash throughout the extensive outdoor space. Many picnic tables sitting under tall trees are just waiting for you. Play cornhole. Make new friends. Try a new brew.

Riva Row Boathouse

Come to the Riva Row Boathouse and kayak on Lake Woodlands with your dog. If it won’t or can’t sit on your lap, then they recommend a tandem kayak. The best part is that there are no additional charges for kayaking with your dog. Also according to Bring Fido, The Woodlands Dog Park Club donated life jackets for your canine friend to use.

Sam Houston National Forest

Not only does the Sam Houston National Forest offer great hiking trails, it doesn’t care if you bring your dog with you. Keep them on a leash and both of you will get some great exercise while enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Parts of the forest run to the shores of Lake Conroe. You can let your dog swim but know that there are alligators in the area.

Showboat Drive-In Theater

While loosely in the Lake Conroe area, the Showboat Drive-In Theater is a wonderful and fun outing. This weekend they are showing Despicable Me 4, Inside Out 2, Deadpool and Wolverine, and Twisters. They charge either individually or by car. Most importantly for this article, dogs on leashes are welcome. They just request that you pick up after your pooch.

In addition to these four dog-friendly places in the Lake Conroe area, there are many dog parks throughout Montgomery County. Check out all of these local destinations with your dog and beat these dog days of summer. Of course, you can also wait until the fall to enjoy them together.
