Donate to the Montgomery County Food Bank

According to the USDA, 47.4 million Americans are experiencing food insecurity in 2024. It is a startling number, especially when you find out that the number of people has increased by over 3 million since 2023. Food insecurity is not having access to sufficient quantity and adequate quality to meet one’s basic needs. Today we are going to focus on how to donate to the Montgomery County Food Bank to help fight food insecurity locally.

Where and When

Today through November 15th, the Montgomery County Food Bank is asking for assistance to fill their pantry shelves. Many families find that the holiday season is the hardest financially. In anticipation for Thanksgiving and Christmas needs, the local food pantries want to ensure that they can meet the needs of the community.

Donate food items in one of two locations. Both places are in Conroe. The first is The Lake House at 1039 Lake House Drive. Donations will be accepted between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The other choice is The Finding Place at 750 Grand Central Parkway. They will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. On Sunday, drop off donations here starting at noon and ending at 5.

What to Donate

The Montgomery County Food Bank always accepts non-perishable food items. They focus on offering low sugar, low salt, and high fiber foods as they seek to offer healthy, nutritous foods. Please make sure that items are not expired before donating.

Make a difference in our local community by donating to the Montgomery County Food Bank. You can also choose to donate money instead of actual food items. Click here to do that and know that each dollar approximately provides for four meals.

Of course, if you find yourself struggling to put good, nutritious food on the table, then consider visiting the local food bank for yourself. Know that your community wants to support you during these difficult financial times.

This would be a great project for any local clubs, church groups, or individual families. You can make a difference in the lives of locals with a donation of food or money. The Montgomery County Food Bank makes it easy to help.
