It is the perfect time to increase your curb appeal with fall front entry decor. When you think of fall, the words cozy, harvest, and crisp immediately come to mind. As you decorate for the season, you can use natural elements as well as artificial elements that look real to spruce up your space. Let’s look at more tips for your fall front entry decor.
I found two videos for decor inspiration. The above one is from Crystal Tara. I love her sitting area in particular. She has a true front porch on her beautiful home. Another video is from Loving Life as Megan. She has a small step instead of a porch, but is able to create a beautiful entry. Either video or both will give you ideas that you can incorporate in your space. And, both women have increased their curb appeal with fall decor.
Fall Front Entry Decor Tips
Clean the space
Take the time to clear out around your front door. Create a clean slate in which you can reimagine the space. This step can make your front door feel welcoming, fresh, and updated. So whether you need to use a pressure washer or not depends on the state of your entry. At a minimum, sweep and clean the windows.
Use Natural Decor Items
Pumpkins-
When you think of fall, the first thing that probably pops in your head is pumpkin. There are so many options for this popular squash. You can use the typical orange ones or find Jarrahdale pumpkins with their blueish-green exterior or the white ones. Of course, you can use a combination of the different kinds like Crystal Tara. There are also artificial pumpkins that you can use instead.
Flowers & Grasses-
Sunflowers, mums, and marigolds are great autumnal flowers. Together with wheat, pampas grass, and other natural elements create a space that screams fall. Crystal Tara chooses to use mums and a pampas grass wreath on her front porch. Her mums were real, which require watering. However, you can purchase artificial flowers to eliminate that need and perhaps will be just as beautiful.
Include Lighting
Illuminate your entry with strategic lighting to make it safe and welcoming even after the sun goes down. In both videos, the women use types of lanterns. However, you can use anything from fairy lights to solar lights.
Layer your Welcome Mat
The most important job of a welcome mat is to eliminate dirt from coming into your home. So make sure to find one that does clean people’s shoes. You can bring in color and interest by layering the hard working mat with a larger mat. Both women chose to incorporate a buffalo check option in their videos. However, florals, stripes, chevron, herringbone, and other patterns will also work beautifully for fall.
Incorporate a Cozy Element
This tip works well only if you have a sitting area outside. Include an outdoor pillow on the back of a chair. Crystal Tara adds a throw to one of her outdoor chairs. It looks great, but I wonder how practical it is. I know that at my house a spider or two would think it was a perfect place to hide. But when it makes sense, add a cozy element to make your home look inviting and increase your curb appeal.
Hopefully these fall front entry decor tips will inspire you to create a welcoming and beautiful space that also increases your home’s curb appeal. Whether you use a symmetrical design like Crystal Tara or an asymetrical design like Loving Life as Megan, either one can really spruce up your entry. Have fun decorating!
