Fourth of July Festivities

Independence Day falls on a Monday this year so plan early not to miss all the Fourth of July Festivities in the Lake Conroe area. There are so many events throughout the weekend. So you could celebrate the day we declared our independence from Great Britain 246 years ago all weekend long.

Lake Conroe/Montgomery

Montgomery Freedom Fest– Saturday, July 2nd in downtown Montgomery starting at 9 a.m. There will be a parade. This year’s theme is “Anything but a Trailer.” Kids can have a great time in a zone just for them. This event ends at 2 p.m.

Southern Empress Dinner Cruise– On Monday, July 4th, you can take a traditional dinner cruise on Lake Conroe. After the sun sets, go up on the top deck and get the best seat in town to watch the fireworks display at the lake. Purchase tickets here. The cruise departs at 7.

Conroe

Stars and Stripes Celebration– Saturday, July 2nd in Conroe at 500 Collins St. Events for children begin at 4. Starting at 7, there will be live music ending with the Conroe Symphony Orchestra. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:15.

The Woodlands

Star-Spangled Salute– Sunday, July 3rd at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, which sits at 2005 Lake Robbins Drive. The concert is free! No need for tickets; the gates open at 6:30. Get your patriotic fix with music from the Houston Symphony beginning with 8 p.m.

South County 4th of July Parade– This is on Monday morning in The Woodlands beginning at 9 a.m. Click here for a map of the parade route. It is a little over a mile long.

Red, Hot, & Pool- Throughout Monday the pools in The Woodlands Township will be decorated festively, have special activities, and refreshments. Normal fees do apply so there might be a fee depending if you are a resident or not.

Red, Hot, & Blue Festival– This is the 25th annual festival in The Woodlands. Many parks in the area are sites for the festival with all events starting at 6. Fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m.

“The primary fireworks display will be located near Northshore Park/Lake Woodlands, with a secondary close-proximity (special effects) display at Town Green Park. The 2022 Fireworks Extravaganza will also feature a fireworks display in the Waterway Square District near Timberloch Place and Waterway Avenue and Rob Fleming Park in the Village of Creekside Park. To ensure spectators have the best fireworks visibility possible, fireworks teaser shots will be fired from all launch locations at 9, 9:10 and 9:20 p.m.”

These are the many Fourth of July Festivities in the Lake Conroe area. I don’t think you can enjoy them all, but you definitely enjoy several this coming up weekend. Happy Independence Day!
