Houston Livestock & Rodeo

Texans are gearing up for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (HLSR). The largest livestock exhibition and rodeo in the world is held in Houston, Texas at NRG Park. It is a family-friendly event to promote our Western heritage and agriculture. It also supports youth through scholarships and other financial support. Not to mention, it is entertaining, fun, and also educational. Attending the HLSR is an annual tradition for many families in the Lake Conroe area. The following is important information about the 2022 event.

Pre-Rodeo Events

The best barbecue teams fill NRG Park on February 24-26 with delicious smells, smoke, and sounds of a good time. 250 teams will compete for the coveted “World’s Best Bar-B-Que” title. Additionally, the carnival will be open and musical performances will entertain visitors.

Early Saturday morning on the 26th, the Houston Rodeo Run will take place downtown. Registration is open now. Choose to run a 5K or 10K. There is also a wheelchair race. The run raises money for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Saturday, February 26th, downtown Houston is transformed with horses, floats, and marching bands with the annual Rodeo Parade. Line the streets and cheer on all the trail riders who have traveled to the city on horseback or in wagons. Be entertained by dancers and musicians. Click here for the route.
