As the year closes, most Americans reflect on the current year and look with hope to the future. I know that my family does. In today’s blog, I am going to express my gratitude as well as explain why I have so much hope for the future.
Gratitude
In the Old Testament, Samuel advised God’s people to “…consider what great things he has done for you” (1 Samuel 12:24b). So in that spirit, Mike Goins Real Estate recognizes that God has allowed us to have another great year. God has blessed us with many transactions from vacant lots to luxury lake homes. We praise Him for each listing and every closing.
We love our sellers and buyers, too. Without you, we would not have work to do. Thank you also for every great review that you have graciously posted. On Google alone, Mike has almost 100 5-star reviews. People read them so thank you!
Hope for the Future
I think every year holds promise, which is why we typically look expectantly toward the future. However, 2025 will usher in new changes for the United States and even the world. We will have a new president in January. Many people hope that our economy will improve under his leadership. With that better economy, we hope that the real estate market will see better interest rates, stability, and growth.
However, the truth is that our new president is still only a man. I loved the meme that circulated during the election cycle that essentially showed a donkey, lamb, and elephant. Underneath it read, “My hope is in the lamb.” What truth in that one short statement! Regardless of who sits in the White House, Jesus Christ sits on his throne ruling and reigning. He is sovereign over all. Colossians 1:17 says, “He holds all things together.”
Jesus did not create the world and set things in motion just to sit back and see how it all plays out. He is not passive. He is not distant. Jesus is involved in every moment of life. He is the Sovereign Lord. This simple but powerful truth kept my heart from anxiety during the Covid pandemic when everything seemed out of control. I repeated this truth to myself throughout this last presidency when I did not understand what was happening to our country.
One of the main reasons I love Christmas is that we celebrate the long-awaited birth of the Messiah. Throughout the Old Testament, God’s people looked forward to the time when the Savior would come for He was their hope. Today, we are 2,000+ years from His actual birth and He is still our hope. Jesus is my hope for the future in 2025 and beyond.
New Year’s Blessing
May the Lord bless you abundantly in the new year. May He draw you close to Him and may He deepen your faith and understanding. As it says in Numbers 6:24-26, “The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord cause His face to shine on you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His face to you, And give you peace.” May you have the “peace that passes understanding” for the new year that only Jesus can give (Philippians 4:7). From all of us at Mike Goins Real Estate, Happy New Year!
