There are so many things going on this month. It is hard to keep up. So today, let’s highlight some local free events in December. Get ready to mark your calendars. Note: these events are in chronological order.
Montgomery Light Up the Park
This event happens at Cedar Brake Park in Montgomery on December 7th from 6-8 p.m. Watch as the park is transformed into a beautiful light display. Santa will also be present as well as a letter station for all your Christmas wishes.
Lake Conroe’s Christmas Boat Parade
I am happy that this event is back up and running. This year, it will be on Monday, December 9th. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. Expect to see lit-up and beautifully decorated boats, hear Christmas music, and support local businesses.
Conroe Christmas Celebration
This family-friendly event occurs on Saturday, December 14th in Heritage Park. Come out and play in the snow! The parade begins at 1:00 p.m. In addition, there will be vendor booths, pictures with Santa, and much more. The event starts at 11:00 a.m. and goes through 4 p.m.
Montgomery Christmas Parade
On the same day, December 14th, at 10:00 a.m. the city of Montgomery also puts on a Christmas parade. This year’s theme is “Toyland.” Line the streets of downtown Montgomery to see the parade. Then stay for Christmas in Historic Montgomery.
Christmas in Historic Montgomery
From 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can shop the artisan market in downtown Montgomery on December 14th. Take a break for the parade, and then stay for more family-friendly fun. Take part in the Christmas Cookie Walk from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also, explore historic homes from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. by candlelight. You have an entire day of fun in historic downtown Montgomery.
Christmas Eve at Lakeside
Every year Lakeside Bible Church hosts a Christmas Eve Service on December 24th. This year they are hosting two services. Of course, each service is open to the public and family-friendly. Come celebrate the birth of our Savior either at 5:30 p.m or 7:00 p.m. The church is right off Freeport Road in Montgomery.
