Key Lime Pie Recipe

I personally gravitate to chocolate, but last Sunday I ate a piece of Key Lime Pie. I really did not think I was going to like it. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how refreshing and light the pie was. It made the perfect end to our springtime dinner.

The best part about the following recipe is that it is so easy to make. It is full of shortcuts like using a store-bought pie crust, key lime juice, and whipped cream. Of course you can always make your own graham cracker crust, squeeze your own key limes, and whip your own cream. Regardless of what path you choose to take, this Key Lime Pie recipe is sure to be one of your favorites.

Key Lime Pie

Filling:

28 ounces sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup sour cream
3/4 cup key lime juice
1 tsp of zest from a lime or key limes (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a bowl, whisk together all the above ingredients. Pour into a prepared graham cracker crust.

Bake for 10 minutes.  Allow pie to cool and then chill for a minimum of 3 hours.

Before serving you can add whipped cream to decorate or cover the pie filling. Another option is to serve the pie with a dollop of whipped cream on top. Serve the pie cold.

This recipe is so easy you are going to wonder if it even classifies as cooking. No one will ever guess it takes so little time. The recipe enables you to spend less time in your kitchen and more time doing things that make you happy. And if cooking from scratch makes you happy, then you will know exactly what to do with this recipe to make it yours.

The Key Lime Pie will refresh your family and guests throughout the spring and all through the summer. Try it and let me know what you think.
