Take a Cool Dip in Lake Conroe

Driving down Hwy 105 or FM 1097 you can see boats on the waters of Lake Conroe all day every day. Boats are the most popular way to enjoy the lake. Between fishing, skiing, tubing, etc. there are many fun activities to do. Sometimes you might want to take a cool dip in the lake instead. Today we are going to look at two places on the lake dedicated to swimming.

Lake Conroe Park

Lake Conroe Park is off of Hwy 105 between Wolfies Restaurant and Papa’s on the Lake. The address is: 14968 Highway 105 West Montgomery, TX. Not only is it a park, but it offers a beach area and swimming to the public. It is closed on Mondays. However from Tuesday to Sunday it opens at 9:30 am and closes at dusk, which is pretty late in the summer. The cost is $5 per person.

It is safe for swimmers because no motorized boats, kayaks, or jet ski is allowed. The area is roped off specifically for swimmers. However, there are no lifeguards so swim at your own risk.

Scott’s Ridge Swim Area

Scott’s Ridge Swim Area is on the west side of Lake Conroe. There is no physical address, but the swim area is approximately 2 miles North of FM 1097 on Forest Service Road 212. It is not a park with amenities like Lake Conroe Park. However, it does have toilets and areas for picnicking. It is a great place to swim in the lake. Scott’s Ridge offers a beach and dedicated swim area for the public. It does cost $5 per vehicle.

Now you know where you can take a cool dip in Lake Conroe safely. Along the shore of the lake, there are two dedicated places for swimmers. As hot as it has been so far this June, you will probably need a place to cool off even if you have been on your boat all day long.
