Are you tired of the mad rush in the morning trying to get yourself out the door? Do you keep your closet door shut because you are embarrassed at how unorganized it looks? Well, I have a great video for you. Chaos in your life can begin as early as when you silence your alarm. A messy closet only adds to the chaos. So let’s learn from Shea Whitney’s video on how she organizes her closet with ten tips for closet organization.
First, let’s watch the video, and then I will add my own thoughts beneath.
Change Your Light Bulbs
Immediately I knew I needed to change my light bulbs. I never know which ones to buy so I was grateful for her explanation on the Kelvin scale. A yellow tone will make your clothes look different than when you are wearing them outside. I think it will make you feel more confident when you see yourself in the mirror, too. Your skin tone will look more natural with just a simple and inexpensive change.
A Basket of Goodies
Shea keeps a basket with a lint roller, double-sided tape, scissors, etc. close by. This enables her to get ready quickly without leaving her closet to find the supplies she needs. I really appreciated this tip and thought of an item to add to the basket of goodies. Wrinkle release spray is a staple in my house. It does a great job of getting rid of any minor wrinkles in a garment. Ironing is not my strong suit. In fact, I avoid it most of the time.
Purchase a Purse Insert
I love handbags! I have so many different shapes and sizes. In order to streamline changing to a different bag, I ordered a purse insert. It is made of felt and is a neutral color. Click here to see what I am talking about. They come in a variety of shapes and colors. Choose one that will fit most of your bags. It is easy to slip the insert and go. Not only does it keep all your key belongings together in one place, but it also keeps them organized. It is a great option for bag lovers.
So now you know Shea’s top ten tips for closet organization. In addition, I gave two of my own tips building on her ideas. Hopefully, you can cut the chaos out of your morning routine regardless of how large or small your closet is. Here’s to organization one room at a time.
