Reflections on 2021

It has been a whirlwind year! If life continues to pass at this rate, the rest of my life will be a Cat 5 hurricane! Like most people as the year comes to an end, I am reflecting on the last 365 days as it pertains to real estate and Lake Conroe. Here are my top three reflections on 2021: Boomtown, Big Wave Award, and Battle for Water Rights Continues.

Boomtown

The US Census named Conroe the fastest growing city in the United States in 2020. President of the Chamber of Commerce, Brian Bondy explained, “Conroe’s growth can be attributed to a wide variety of reasons including location, schools, housing availability and affordability and an excellent place for doing business. With a vibrant downtown and the beautiful lake area as well as a strong commitment from a growing business base, Conroe is poised to grow well into the future.” In the past 21 years, its population doubled.

In 2021,  SmartAsset named Conroe, Texas a “Boomtown.” They studied 500 of the largest cities in the US. Conroe tied with Meridian, ID in 3rd place. The top two cities are Murfreesboro, TN and Nampa, ID. Conroe is the only city in Texas to make the top ten. If you are looking for a city with a lot going for it, check out Conroe and its surrounding area.

Big Wave Award

Mike Goins earned the Big Wave Award from Lake Homes Realty for another year in a row. This award is given to agents who sell over $10 million in sales for the year. He gives all the glory to God. Lake Homes also selected Mike as a finalist for the prestigious Agent of the Year award.

Battle for Water Rights Continues

Lake Conroe Association continues to fight the City of Houston and the San Jacinto River Authority to stop the release of water from Lake Conroe. To read more about this issue, here is an article called “Stop the Drop Fight Continues.” Needless to say, the Lake Conroe Association is not giving up. However, the legal battle is expensive. If you are a Lake Conroe resident and want to join the fight, read, “How You Can Help to End the Seasonal Lake Lowering Program.”

Hopefully you enjoyed my top three reflections on 2021. It has been a great year for the Lake Conroe area and another great year for Mike Goins Real Estate. We could not do it without people like you. Therefore, we thank you for trusting us for your real estate needs.
