We will be enjoying or enduring, depending on how you look at it, the weather this weekend. Cold temperatures combined with rain won’t make it an ideal weekend for getting out. So, I am highlighting two indoor events that will allow you to get out of the house and stay warm and dry.
Big – The Musical
If you are envisioning Tom Hanks playing the floor-sized piano, then you are on the right track. The movie “Big” has been modified for the stage and turned into musical. Come out to the Crighton Theatre either Saturday, February 22nd or Sunday, February 23rd and see the performance.
Headliners Comedy Series
This Saturday, February 22nd, Nathanial Armador will be performing at Margaritaville Lake Conroe Resort as part of their Headliners Comedy Series. Expect to laugh throughout his routine as well as with Billy D. Washington, who is hosting the event. General admission is $28, but their are VIP tickets available. You can also take advantage of Margaritaville’ package deal and stay the night.
Other Options
In addition to these two indoor events this weekend, you can always check out the various restaurants in the Lake Conroe area known for their live music. For example, Bryan Scott is playing at 202 Main. Jeff Black and Jim Sloan are playing at the Red Brick Tavern. These are just two of many places offering food, drinks, and live music.
There are also a variety of breweries or wineries you could visit. Sit in on a tasting or kick back and relax. Southern Star Brewing Co. is an example. Their taproom is open every weekend. Bernhardt Winery is close to the Lake Conroe area. Arguably, it would be better to visit this winery with great weather to fully enjoy the experience. However, they offer a wine tasting experience that is all indoors.
If you find yourself getting antsy and restless, know that you have options for indoor events this weekend. Whether you pay to be entertained or choose to enjoy food with live music, you have choices. Friends don’t let friends stay bored in bad weather. Get out and have fun!
