Quite an achievement considering there are so many golf courses just in the Lake Conroe area. So what should you know about Walden Golf Course? We will look into its history and what it offers.
History:
Since 1976, the Walden Golf Course has been a fixture in the Lake Conroe area. Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin designed it to combine the beauty of the area with a challenging course. Tall pine trees and strong oak trees line the boundaries of the fairways. The course is meticulously maintained. And, the lake itself plays a part in both the beauty and challenge.
Golf Texas says, von Hagge and Devlin “moved over 300,000 cubic yards of earth to extend the lakefront property.” This move gave the course an infamous “589-yard double dogleg.” Golfers will find #11 on this dogleg, which has a par 5. This hole is rated in the top 500 holes in the world! You can see this hole in the aerial photograph above.
