Weekend Outings for the Fall

Fall is one of the best seasons in the Lake Conroe area. The cooler temperatures alone make it fun to be outdoors. After an extremely hot summer, many people are looking for things to do outside now. Here are some local weekend outings for the fall.

Live Music

There are so many opportunities to enjoy live music throughout downtown Conroe and around the lake that I am surprised music does not fill the air. In fact, Governor Abbott designated Conroe, Texas as an official Music Friendly Community in 2018. I am going to highlight some places, but there are many more. It could be fun to visit each place and find your favorite one.

202 Main-

This venue and restaurant sits in downtown Conroe. They offer signature drinks and gourmet treats. Tonight Jim Pressley is performing from 8:00-11:00 p.m. And then on Saturday, Cat Fyfe performs. Check out their website often to see who is playing.

Breakwater Grille-

This restaurant sits on the lake and offers tremendous views of the water. It also has a dozen televisions so you won’t miss your favorite sporting events. They offer a casual dining experience and live music on the weekends. Tonight Jenn Harris performs from 7:00-10:00 p.m. Then Bill Mock and Karl Waitz entertain on Saturday.

Table at Madeley-

This place is unique in that it is the first and only food truck park in downtown Conroe. Sit under the stars and enjoy live music. Here is this weekend’s lineup. Starting this evening, Eli Alger and the Faster Horses play from 7:30-9:00 p.m. On Saturday, Nate Burnham performs from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Then there are two different performances on Sunday. From 1:00-6:00 p.m. enjoy the Sunday Jam Sessions with RD Floyd. And from 3:00-5:00 p.m. John Conlee plays.

The Red Brick Tavern-

This venue is also in downtown Conroe. It offers live music five times a week. Therefore, you have more opportunities to enjoy music here than most places in the local area. Beyond music, they have an up-scale menu featuring comfort food. At different festivals, they have won best burger, best taco, and best pizza. So be sure to come hungry. Like the Table at Madeley, The Red Brick Tavern has a full weekend lineup. Starting tonight at 7:00 p.m. Mississippi Smile plays until 10:00 p.m. On Saturday, Average Joe Crane performs from 9:00 to 11:45 p.m. Sundays include a Gospel Sunday Brunch featuring Jim Sloan starting at 11:30 a.m. Then at 7:00 p.m., Brian Bielanski takes the stage. Be sure to check their website as some performances require tickets, which you can buy in advance.

Immersing Yourself in Nature

Lake Conroe-

Fall is a gorgeous time to be on the lake. Fishing and boating are great ways to experience the lake. Watching sunsets and sunrises over the water can take away stress. Experience many restaurants along the shoreline either by land or lake. Be refreshed in the open air and surrounded by natural beauty.

Sam Houston National Forest-

If hikes are more your thing, then definitely consider exploring the Sam Houston National Forest. They have several trails to choose from, including short and quite long ones. Breathe in the fresh air. See wildlife in their natural element. Get some exercise. Bring a picnic lunch and eat outdoors. You’ll leave tired, but reinvigorated.

The Lake Conroe area also has numerous golf courses, breweries, wineries, and other great places to enjoy yourself outdoors. Throughout this blog, I have highlighted many of them. Hopefully you now have a good idea of perfect weekend outings for the fall that are available throughout the Lake Conroe area. Now all you have to do is decide where to begin this weekend. Enjoy!
