There is something special about live music. The musicians and singers are right in front of their audience. You can see them sweat. There is a connection between performers and a live audience, too. They receive instant feedback on their performance. In my opinion, it is so much more fun than having a DJ or simply listening to the radio. Well this weekend there are several places hosting live music events in the Lake Conroe area.
Southern Star Brewing Company
TEXFest 2021 will be at this local brewery. It begins tomorrow, January 23rd, at noon and goes until 8 p.m. According to their Facebook page, “It’s the biggest shindig this side of Amarillo! A big Texas truck contest, a chili cook-off, line dancing and the best beer in Texas!” And it is free. Events like a tomahawk throwing contest, chili cook-off, a truck and Jeep contest, and a corn hole contest fill the day. Vendors and food trucks will also be there. Live music will fill the air and entertain guests. A lot is going on at this one-day event.
Wave on Lake Conroe
This lakeside restaurant hosts its first Saturday Night Live on the Lake of 2021 tomorrow. Come to hear Tyler Hodgson of Southern County Line as he performs. He is the one singing in the photograph above. Music begins at 8 p.m. This event is also free and the Wave on Lake Conroe is offering discounted prices on beer and no cover charge.
Red Brick Tavern
An unique venue for live music as well as gourmet food and craft beer, the Red Brick Tavern has invited the Primrose Hollow Band to entertain guests Saturday evening. They are a local country band from Magnolia. Doors open at 8:45 p.m. The band takes the stage at 9:30 p.m. and will play their classic country/rock music. Tickets are $7.00 a person and available here. If you don’t already know the Primrose Hollow Band, you can listen to a sample of their music.
Backwoods Saloon
Rockin’ the Woods begins this Saturday for the first time this year in Conroe at the Backwoods Saloon. This local restaurant and bar describes itself as a “relaxed, biker-friendly honky-tonk with pool tables, pub grub, live music & a spacious deck.” The Charlie Parker Band is kicking it off at 8 p.m. To listen to them play beforehand, check out this site.
Though it is probably not an exhaustive list of all the live music events this weekend, we have certainly hit the high points. With the pandemic, bars and restaurants have really been hurting as have live entertainers. Therefore, it is a great way to support both this weekend and have fun, too. Live music in the Lake Conroe area might be just what you need to lift your spirits. After all, music is good for the soul.
