Longview Greens: A Big Success in Miniature Golf

Longview Greens

Longview Greens tucked back on Clepper Drive offers not only family-friendly fun, but a valuable lesson in persistence.  It is a Texas-themed miniature golf course with some difficult greens.  The key to success is to have a plan, take a shot, and adjust.  Eventually you’ll get your ball in the hole.  Inevitably, some succeed faster than others.  For owners, Jason and Julie Long, the same tactic enabled them to build their dream of a putt-putt golf business in Montgomery, Texas.

Four years ago while visiting a different state, the Long family enjoyed a round of mini golf together.  They had so much fun playing.  Then they began wondering why there was not a local option for miniature golf in our area.  The Longs devised a business plan, but were rejected by 19 banks.  Instead of giving up, they applied with the 20th bank, which gave their stamp of approval, and the couple began putting their plan into action.

They had several goals.  First, the Longs desired to incorporate a Texas theme in their course.  Additionally, they did not want a bunch of gimmicks.  For example, windmills and clowns that really did not add anything to the course.  Also like the game of golf, Jason especially wanted there to be risk and reward with each shot.  According to him, the course is challenging and it is hard to break par.  You will just have to see for yourself.  By the way the hardest green is the Texas Twister a.k.a. green #11 with a par 4, which is hard even for mini golf standards.

Through hard work and tenacity, the couple opened Longview Greens three years ago.  Since then it has become the highest rated mini golf course in Texas.  That is quite the accomplishment!

After playing a round of golf, Longview Greens has a beautiful outdoor area complete with Edison-bulb lights and lawn games.  Stay and play connect four or corn hole or just hang out.  Enjoy shaved ice and ice cream.  They have over 40 flavors of the former and a variety of the latter.  Longview Greens is a local family business that provides a safe, fun outing for families, friends, and groups.  If you have not already checked them out, definitely put that down as your goal this summer.  It would be a great way to spend some time with your dad on Father’s Day this weekend.  Click here for hours and pricing.
